We recommend that all participants carefully read and understand these terms and conditions before registering for the TIF International Conference on Thalassaemia and Other Haemoglobinopathies. By registering for the conference, participants acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agree to these terms and conditions.
REGISTRATION AGREEMENT, REGISTRATION PROCESS AND PAYMENT METHODS
- By registering for and/or attending the TIF International Conference on Thalassaemia and Other Haemoglobinopathies (the “Conference”), all participants agree to be bound by and comply with these Terms and Conditions. It is the participant’s responsibility to read and understand these Terms and Conditions.
- All participants must pay the registration fee prior to the conference. Registrants are advised to bring a copy of their payment slip to the registration desk in case they are requested to show proof of payment.
- Registration fees and deadlines are as follows:
- Early bird registration is available until July 31st, 2023, provided there are still available seats at the conference.
- Standard registration will be available from August 1st to September 30th, 2023, provided there are still available seats at the conference.
- Late registration will be available from October 1st to October 31st, 2023, provided there are still available seats at the conference.
- Registrants should obtain registration confirmation from the Secretariat Office before committing to travel arrangements.
- Participants are responsible for taking appropriate insurance coverage in connection with their attendance at the Conference. If the participant is travelling from outside the host country to attend the Conference, appropriate travel insurance is advised to be purchased independently and in advance of any travel or travel bookings.
- Conference organisers are not responsible for any accidents or health issues appearing during the travel or during the stay in the host country. TIF will make every effort to collaborate with medical experts at hospitals in Kuala Lumpur in case of any emergency.
- Conference registration fees include access to all scientific sessions, workshops, and exhibits based on the category of the participant. Accommodation costs are not included in the conference registration fee, and attendees are responsible for making their own lodging arrangements if the conference package was not purchased.
- Capacity is limited. Registrations will be handled on a first-come, first-served basis. Conference registrations may close at any time without prior notice.
- Registration for the Conference will be available online through the conference website. Payment may be made by credit card or bank transfer. Payment instructions will be provided during the registration process.
- All participants must pay the registration fee prior to the conference. Registrants are advised to bring a copy of their payment slip to the registration desk in case they are requested to show proof of payment.
- The Conference reserves the right to cancel or reschedule the Conference or change the venue at any time for any reason. In the event of cancellation, rescheduling, or change of venue, the Conference will refund the registration fee in full, but will not be responsible for any other expenses incurred by the participant.
- Participants are prohibited from sharing their registration credentials with any other person. The Conference reserves the right to cancel the registration of any participant who shares their credentials or otherwise violates these Terms and Conditions.
- Participants must check in at the registration desk at the Conference venue and present a copy of their payment slip as proof of registration.
- On-site registration will not be allowed. All participants must register online prior to the Conference.
PAYMENTS
- Payments can be made online by credit card (Visa or MasterCard only) or by direct bank transfer. Participants are advised to ensure that all the correct details are included in the transfer, such as name, proforma invoice number, and conference number (if applicable).
- All fees payable by the participant must be paid in full, free and clear of all deductions or withholdings whatsoever, in accordance with the terms contained in this ‘Information’ section.
- Conference registrations will not be confirmed until the completed registration form and correct payment have been received and processed by the Secretariat Office.
- Full payment must be received prior to the conference. Access to the conference will not be permitted if full payment has not been received.
- All applicable taxes are included in the price.
- When paying online with a credit card, the transaction will appear in the participant’s bank account statement as “14th International Conference on Thalassaemia & Haemoglobinopathies and 16th TIF International Conference for Patients & Parents”.
- If bank transfer is chosen in the registration form application and not executed on time, it may result in the cancellation of the registration request, and the participant may need to reapply for registration with an increased registration fee.
- Payments with credit cards cannot be accepted from the following countries: Afghanistan, Algeria, Angola, Myanmar, Cameroon, Ecuador, Iran, Indonesia, French Guiana, Yemen, Tanzania, Uganda, Syria, Sudan, Papua New Guinea, Panama, Nepal, Mongolia, Lao, Korea Democratic People’s Republic, Kyrgyzstan, Kenya, Ivory Coast, and Iraq. Please note that this list may be updated without prior notice.

VISA Rejection Cancellations | It is the participants’ responsibility to obtain VISA if required. Conference can only reimburse partially the cancellations made before August 31, 2023 regarding VISA rejection. Cancellations made September 1, 2023 and onwards will not be refunded. |
- Substitutions may be made until 30 September 2023. If you wish to substitute a participant, please contact the Conference Secretariat at the earliest opportunity.
- All refunds will be made after the Conference.
- In the event of fire, flood or without limit other causes that Thalassaemia International Federation reasonably believes to be substantial or that are beyond Thalassaemia International Federation’s control, Thalassaemia International Federation reserves the right to change the times, dates and the venue of the conference, without incurring any liability to the participants.
- By accepting these terms and conditions, the participant indemnifies Thalassaemia International Federation, its organizers, and agents, and holds them harmless from all loss, damage, injury, actions, proceedings, or claims arising from any act or omission of the participant during the course of the conference.
CONFERENCE PROGRAM
- Conference program is subject to change without prior notice.
PERSONAL INFORMATION
- By completing the registration process, participants acknowledge and agree that their personal information (including but not limited to name, address, email, affiliation, and phone number) will be collected, stored, and used by Thalassaemia International Federation for the purposes of organizing and running the conference, and may be shared with third parties such as conference service providers, sponsors, and exhibitors.
- Participants who do not wish to have their contact details shared with third parties can indicate their preference on the registration form.
- Thalassaemia International Federation may also use the participant’s email address to circulate conference-related information and announcements of future events. Participants may opt-out of these communications at any time by contacting the Conference Secretariat at secretariat@tif2023.org.
PERSONAL PROPERTY
- Participants are responsible for the safety and security of their personal property during the conference. Thalassaemia International Federation will not be liable for any loss, theft or damage to personal belongings or equipment. Participants are advised to take reasonable precautions to protect their property.
